Here is a simple yet flavorful spice blend I came up with recently. It can be used in a variety of dishes. Most recently it was showcased in a baked shrimp dish and black bean soup.
4 spice blend
2 Tbsp coriander seed
2 Tbsp fennel seed
1 Tbsp smoked hot paprika
1 Tbsp cumin
Toast coriander and fennel seed in hot dry pan until fragrant and slightly golden. Place in clean coffee grinder, grinding into a fine powder. Place in bowl and mix in paprika and cumin. Place in air tight container until ready to use.
